Depp’s ‘incredibly vicious and cruel’ taunts aired in court

A former friend of Amber Heard told the court about the “incredibly mean and cruel” things he heard Johnny Depp say about her.

Amber Heard’s former boyfriend iO Tillett Wright was the first witness to call the defense after the actress left the stands during ex-husband Johnny Depp’s libel trial against her.

In a pre-recorded statement, Wright testified that he met Heard in Los Angeles in late 2011 and that they formed a friendship. Wright said he also later became close to Depp — a relationship that ended in December 2015.

He also said he hadn’t spoken to Heard in over a year, suggesting the two were no longer on good terms.

“Johnny when sober was beautiful and magical and very funny,” Wright said. “I felt a kindred connection to him and a shared perspective on the world that I’ve shared with very few people in my life.” He described Depp as extremely generous.

But added that Depp can also be “incredibly mean and mean, especially when he’s drunk or high”.

Witness remembers Depp’s bender with Marilyn Manson

Wright said in the pre-recorded statement that he remembered a time when Amber Heard was out of town and Johnny Depp and Marilyn Manson drank heavily and “drink a lot of cocaine.”

He said actor Paul Bettany was also in attendance.

“He really hated being sober. He didn’t want to be,” Wright said of Depp.

The Pirates of the Caribbean Star allegedly showed him a marijuana cabinet containing “tens and dozens of pounds of weed”.

Wright also said that when Depp was high, he could be extremely cruel.

After Depp and Heard argued, Wright said he told him, “All she’s got is her looks and she’s got no talent. Anything so she can figure out another way to survive.”

Depp’s jealousy and drug addiction were recurring themes in previous relationships – including with Winona Ryder, the actor is said to have told Wright.

Wright also confirmed several allegations made by Amber Heard of physical and emotional abuse by Depp.

He said he visited Heard’s apartment after Depp allegedly punched her on December 15, 2015 during an argument over the star’s alleged infidelity.

Wright said he saw the injuries Heard allegedly suffered, including a bruise on her scalp and temple and a cleft lip.

Months earlier, Wright attended their wedding party in February 2015 and Depp is said to have made a disturbing comment, he said.

He said, ‘We’re married now. I can punch her in the face and nobody can do anything about it,” Wright told the court.

Explosive quarrel about origin of feces in spousal bed

Wright received a call from Amber Heard on May 21, 2016, requesting that they clean up the infamous defecation incident.

Johnny Depp had gone to the penthouse to pick up some belongings, about a month after he found what he described as human feces in their marital bed after a massive fight.

“She said, ‘Johnny thinks you and I shit on his pillow,'” Wright told the court. “I think the words used were ‘sh*t on his pillow’, so I started laughing.” He and Heard laughed, which according to Wright infuriated Depp.

Wright tried to explain that he hadn’t been in the apartment that morning when he heard a loud noise. Wright mimicked the sound by smacking his hand with his closed fist.

“The phone fell and he said to her, ‘Do you think I beat you? Do you think I fucking beat you? What if I pull your fucking hair back?’ Wright testified in the deposition: “I remember her screaming and I hung up the phone,” he said, his eyes swelling with tears.

He called her best friend, Raquel Pennington, who lived next door to her, then called the police. Heard testified in court that Depp punched her cellphone in the face.
