Andrews Symonds shared a very close friendship with a glamorous Fox Sports publicist

Andrew Symonds formed a close friendship with a Fox Sports publicist ten years his junior before dying in a car accident.

The cricketer was killed around 10:30 p.m. Saturday when his ute went off the road and hit an embankment on the outskirts of Townsville, in the north of the city. Queensland

It has since been revealed that the 46-year-old Fox Sports commentator and his wife Laura were in the middle of a divorce and had been living apart for months before his death.

She lived in Sydney with their children, Chloe and Billy, while he stayed in Townsville.

Daily Mail Australia can now confirm that Symonds shared a bond with 35-year-old Stefanie Rezzaro, who also works at Fox Sports, after the split.

Two days after his sudden death, Ms Rezzaro – who lives and works in Melbourne – posted a photo of them together on a fishing boat in Townsville with the caption ‘XXXX’.

One friend wrote “love you,” while others responded with multiple heart emojis.

Symonds was an avid fisherman and often took close friends and family on one of his three boats.

Ms Rezzaro has also been to Queensland a few times in recent months.

Symonds also visited Melbourne for his work as a sports commentator, but his most recent trip was in March to attend the funeral of his former team-mate and friend, Shane Warne.

Despite the split, his estranged wife Laura has been in Townsville with their children to help his mother Barbara and sister Louise organize the funeral.

Laura told News Corp. on Sunday, “We’re still in shock — just thinking about the two kids.”

“He was just such a great person and there was so much of him in his kids.”

On Wednesday, his daughter celebrated Chloe’s 10th birthday – the first celebration without her father.

The cause of Symonds’ crash has yet to be determined.

He spent Saturday morning fishing, before heading to the Brothers Leagues Club near his home in Kirwan, west of Townsville – but Queensland police said alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

Justin Wilkins, the club’s CEO, also said he didn’t think Symonds had been drinking much.

Symonds left the pub at about 8pm, went home to collect his two much-loved blue heeler dogs before departing and heading west.

He died almost three hours later when his… ute veered off Hervey Range Road, about 9 miles west of the pub, and rolled up an embankment on its drive home from a mysterious location.

The cricketer’s home is a two minute drive from the club in Kirwan. The crash site is about 15 minutes west of Kirwan, near the Alice River Bridge.

Symonds’ beloved pets sat in the back of the red 4X4, which had personalized ‘ROY’ number plates at the time of the accident.

It was the same vehicle the avid fisherman used to tow his boats on his many fishing trips.

The dogs survived the crash, with one refusing to leave Symonds’ body by the side of the road.

His best friend and former team-mate Jimmy Maher told Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday that Symonds was driving home when he went off the road, but he didn’t know where the former cricketer had been since he left the pub.

Neither did his sister Louise when asked Monday – “we just don’t know,” she said.

On Tuesday afternoon, Maher swallowed the tears when he said, “The family is struggling, as you might expect, but they are also holding up.”

“It’s hard for young children to comprehend such a loss as the magnitude of the loss of your father.”

Locals Babetha Neliman and her friend Waylon Townson were on the scene just two minutes after the crash.

The couple loved the cricket hanging partially out of the vehicle on the passenger side and said it was still running and playing country music.
