l worked in a cramped bar in Perth. One of the bars that flies there once said to me, “The internet! What has it gotten anyone?” At that point I thought, what an idiot – what about sharing information massively, or connecting with distant relatives? But the more I think about what he said, frankly, the more right he is. people just use the internet to send fart shots to their friends that’s a fact i got off the internet so it must be true.
Anyway, here are some things that make me laugh!
1. Nick Capper’s Pig Palace
Nick is one of the best comedians in the country. I wanted to write something about how much I love and respect his work, but when I checked youtube link, I realized the jerk wasn’t giving me credit in the production of his show. Anyway, go check it out and leave a comment because as we all know, everyone on the internet has an opinion and we should be hearing it all the time, even if you’re an asshole!
Brokers are the best people in the world and I respect them. Just kidding, they are huge flogs and this Instagram account highlights their douche baggery. There are so many crazy scammers who love the grind on this page. Who would have thought that 40% of real estate agents have nunchucks? (Anyone who has met one.)
3. The Little Dum Dum Club Podcast
You’re probably thinking, Brett, why recommend someone else’s podcast when you have a much cooler one called Flat stick that is about unpaved dikes, car racing and action sports? I’d say it’s because I’m a thoughtful person. The Little Dum Dum Club is probably the second funniest podcast in Australia and has heaps of crazy dudes and wild stories in every episode. This and Half way through the flight are the only podcasts I listen to weekly.
4. Rooster attacks a weatherman on live TV
I’ve never watched TV in the morning – too many fake smiles and Botox for my taste! But in this clip, the weatherman is purged by a rooster as he tries to tell a feel-good story. It makes me feel good every time I see it!
5. Grace Jarvis on Twitter
I’m dyslexic, so I hate reading. If I had a tagline it would be “Words are for nerds.” But Grace’s tweets (whom she also reposts on her Instagram) are all I’ll read other than which newspaper paid me to write this (wink). She’s an extremely funny stand-up, so go check her out!
6. Tim Hewitt on TikTok
Tim is one of the funniest character comedians in Australia. His characters are great and his stand-up comedy ruins me. I love it. Now give him his own TV show!
7. Guy who falls in a bowl with a tricycle
First of all, it’s the worst bike I’ve ever seen. Tricycles have all the dangers of a motorcycle and not the convenience! If you’re not Billy Connolly on tour, get off them…they’re shit. This video rules though, as the guy starts off confident and then gets whipped up. It went viral, but it’s fair to say most of the clicks are mine. Just when you think it’s over, it gets worse.
8. Jackass 3.5″
I’ve been doing standup for 11 years and nothing I’ve ever written or will write will be as funny as Eric Manaka finishing an ice hockey puck to perfection. This 2011 movie is on Netflix – it’s so good to see them again and grayer than ever in Jackass Forever. Nothing is funnier than Jackass and if you disagree – YOU ARE WRONG.
9. Dahn Rozario on TikTok
I just got off a tour with this guy and he made me up all the time. I’ve been a huge fan of his TikToks for a while now. It is mainly him cooked in a bush deaf – good, wholesome content. Get around him!
10. Redfern Electric
John Cruckshank is a wild unit/standup comedian/skater from Sydney. He made this self-financed movie about a stand-up comedian named John Cruckshank who retires to work as an electrician and it’s one of the best comedies I’ve seen in a long time. Some people wait for someone to give them a blank check to make something great, but people like John just get it done! If it’s funny, it will float.
