MagEZ Slider Review – Wirelessly Charge All Apple Devices Simultaneously

MagEZ Slider Review – There are literally tons of charging devices on the market and are now largely wireless, thanks to Apple MagSafe technology. Being able to snap in your devices securely and easily is a godsend and certainly makes your charging life easier.

But as an iPhone user, you may also have other Apple devices such as an Apple Watch and Apple AirPods. Many manufacturers have released a desk solution to charge all three at once, but most are bulky or don’t look very good aesthetically.

But this MagEZ slider from PITAKA is different. Not only can you charge your iPhone, Apple Watch (with an extra accessory) and AirPods at the same time on your desk, you can also convert this desk charger into a portable power bank. And it is compact and aesthetically pleasing.

MagEZ Slider Review – Design and Features

The MagEZ slider generally consists of two parts: the wireless charger desk unit (I’ll refer to it as the dock) and MagSafe power pack (like a portable power bank). To charge your phone on the desk, you must first place the MagSafe power pack in the dock (USB-C connectors). You can then magnetically place your MagSafe-supported iPhone on the entire device, or more precisely, on the MagSafe power pack.

Why all this hassle? Because you can really take the power bank part out of the dock while you’re on the go. This way you can keep charging your phone even when you are not at home. Thanks to MagSafe support, the power bank attaches magnetically to the back of your iPhone (there’s a small, hidden power button that you have to press before it starts charging). And when you’re back home later, simply attach the power bank back to the dock. Pretty handy. However, you cannot see how much battery you have left because there are no LED indicators on the power bank.

The MagEZ Slider charges your iPhone AND the power bank at the same time, making it really efficient as you don’t waste time trying to fully charge both your iPhone and the power bank.

How big is the battery pack? According to PITAKA, MagEZ Slider’s power bank has a battery capacity of 4,000 mAh, which is actually a sweet spot for me. I have a couple of 10,000 mAh power banks at home and while they pack a lot of juice they are quite bulky to carry around and I usually only found it necessary to charge my iPhone once outside. iPhone 13 Pro has a 3,095 mAh battery, which means you can fully charge your iPhone 13 Pro once – and then some more.

As for power inputs and outputs, here are the specs of the MagEZ Slider:

  • Power Type C Port Input: DC 9V/2.22A
  • Power Type C Port Output: DC 5V/2A
  • Power Bank C port input (during wireless charging): DC 5V/2A
  • Power Bank C Port Input/Output: DC 5V/1.5A
  • Type C port for dongle output: DC 5V/1A
  • Wireless output: 5W
  • AirPods wireless output: 5W

Unfortunately, you can’t get that 15W MagSafe fast charge on the MagEZ Slider, but if versatility is more important to you, it’s still a good choice to have.

To charge an Apple Watch, you need to purchase the additional accessory Power Dongle for Apple Watch. The dongle can then be plugged into the base/dock of the MagEZ Slider, but interestingly, it can also be plugged into a USB-C port. This means that you can charge your Apple Watch with this Power Dongle accessory, but you don’t have to carry the dock with you. As long as you have other power banks or wall chargers with a USB-C port, you can use them with the dongle to charge your Apple Watch.

The cap is also magnetized so you can attach the cap to the other end so you don’t lose it. A very well thought out design from the design team.

Finally, the MagEZ Slider has a nice factor that other wireless desktop chargers don’t have. You can rotate the dock either clockwise or counterclockwise. It will also emit various ticking clock sounds which is fascinating and stress relieving.

MagEZ Slider Review Conclusion

MagEZ Slider is this compact, fun, versatile MagSafe wireless charger to charge your Apple devices at the same time. On the desk, you can get it to charge your MagSafe supported iPhone, your Apple Watch and also your AirPods.

The part that charges your iPhone can be unplugged and taken along as a MagSafe, wireless power bank. The Power Dongle to charge your Apple Watch can be disconnected and used with all USB-C power banks or chargers. The back of the dock to charge your AirPods can also be used to charge other Qi supported devices such as my Jabra Elite 85t

Overall, MagEZ Slider is an aesthetically pleasing multi-device wireless charger (both MagSafe and Qi), while also having a fun, stress-relieving factor. But its versatility and design really are the stars of the show and deserve a spot on your desk.
