We’ve all made it, we’re on the other side of Keigh-3 and video game release dates are starting to flow again.
This week see Autumn boys go free to play, naka: blade point arrives on Xbox, Sonic Origins spin dashes on planks, and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes gives us an excuse to fall in love with the Three Houses again.
21st of June
Fall Boys: Free for Everyone (XSX, XBO)
I only added Xbox as a platform there, but that’s only because Autumn boys‘ free-to-play debut marks its arrival on the Xbox platform. The game will be free to play on whatever platform it is currently available on.
Farming Simulator 19: Ambassador Edition (PS4, XBO)
If you’re wondering why the hell Farming Sim 19 gets a new retail version, it’s because the 2019 edition is considered the fan favorite. if you feel like Farming Simulatoror you just need to plug a hole in your game board full of conversation pieces, this is your chance.
Shadowrun Trilogy: Console Edition (NS, PS4, XBO)
Remasters of all three classics shadow run games are coming to consoles this week. These titles are among the best classic CRPG games and feature the beloved science-fantasy Shadowrun TTRPG campaign setting. If you’ve never played them before, now is a perfect time to get in.
wreck party (NS)
Another retail re-release, this time for the Switch. wreck party however, is a lot of fun and well worth checking out if you haven’t played it yet.
Autobahn Police Simulator 3 (PS5, PS4)
For those in need of completely legal speed, you can now chase criminals down the fastest stretch of highway in the world.
Naraka: Bladepoint (XSX)
The hit battle royale title is coming to Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass. 60 players fall on an island, they are all martial arts gods and there is a pandemonium. One thing to watch out for: Naraka: Bladepoint has not had any OCE servers to date. That might be about the change with the Game Pass drop, but something to keep in mind if you try it this weekend: there may be a delay.
Sonic Origins (PS5, XSX, PC, NS, PS4, XBO)
The latest in a long line of classics sonic collectionssonic Origin contains Sonic the hedgehog 1 and 2, Sonic 3 & Knucklesand Sonic CD† A lot has been done for the launch of the game’s extremely strange pre-order content, although it looks like the pack is the games you remember, with a few new modes. For example, the anniversary mode expands the games to fit widescreen displays and gives infinite lives.
Tour de France 2022 (PS5, XSX, PC, PS4, XBO)
This is driving me crazy Tour de France thing now. For the third week in a row, the release date was set at the last minute.
24th of June
Capcom Fighting Collection (PC, NS, PS4, XBO)
This is a collection of 10 classic Capcom fighting games spread across street fighter† darkstalkersand super puzzle fighter†
Fire Emblem Heroes: Three Hopes (NS)
Probably the biggest release of the week. The latest in Nintendo’s partnership with Koei-Tecmo on Musou games, Fire Emblem Heroes: Three Hopes is an in-canon prequel to Fire Emblem: Three Houses† Although the tutorial is set during the characters’ time at the Officer’s Academy, the main campaign follows Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude into the war.
This will be the second Fire Emblem Warriors game and will be a must-play for those who are still obsessed with the FH: TH crew. Obviously Musou games are a different beast compared to the slower mainline turn-based strategy fire emblem franchisee. While strategy plays a role in every Musou game, the joy of the genre comes from wading into an impossibly large group of enemies and destroying them with outsized melee attacks.
We won’t have a review code ready until launch day, so we’ll get to it with all of you this weekend.
pokemon snap (NS)
One of the most beloved quirks in Nintendo’s long and storied library. A game that left such an indelible mark on a generation of players that they have hunted Nintendo into a 20-year sequel. It’s coming to the Nintendo Switch Online expansion pack.
