Overwatch 2’s Junker Queen Abilities Detailed Ahead of Upcoming Beta

Junker Queen is Overwatch 2s newest hero, and Blizzard has finally given fans more details about her abilities ahead of her debut in the game’s second beta.

Junker Queen, a frontline tank, is all about getting up close and personal and dealing damage with her battle ax and scattergun shotgun. Melee attacks with the ax, as well as hits with her Carnage ability or ultimate ability, Rampage, will inflict wounds on enemies. Wounds not only inflict damage on enemies, but also heal Junker Queen thanks to her passive Adrenaline Rush ability.

Her ax can be thrown to deal damage from range, and in where god of war mode, can be called up at the touch of a button. Junker Queen’s Commanding Shout ability increases both her health and that of nearby allies, while also giving her a 30% movement speed boost. As for her ultimate, Rampage causes Junker Queen to rush forward and inflict wounds on all enemies hit, and has the added benefit of not healing the affected enemies.

After years of being teased by Blizzard, the Mad Max-inspired Junker Queen made her official debut in a new Overwatch cinematic trailer at a recent Overwatch 2 event.

Junker Queen will be playable in the second round of the Overwatch 2 beta, which begins on June 28. Unlike the game’s first beta period, the second Overwatch 2 beta is playable on consoles. Players can try out the reworks for characters like Orisa, Doomfist, Bastion and Sombra on several new maps, as well as try out new heroes like Junker Queen and Sojourn.

Blizzard has big plans for Overwatch 2, which will be the PvP portion free to play and will ditch loot boxes in favor of a battle pass progression system and the ability to directly purchase various cosmetics. Overwatch 2 launches on October 4, and Blizzard already has a content roadmap detailing plans to add an additional tank hero, a new map, and new cosmetics within the first two months of the game’s launch.

Overwatch 2 release comes as Activision Blizzard continues to struggle with multiple ongoing lawsuits and investigations related to an alleged “frat boy” work culture.
