Game of Thrones† spin-off starring Kit Harrington has been all but confirmed, with his former co-star, Emilia Clarke, now weighing in on the news.
Earlier this month, it was reported that HBO put a spin-off in early development following the adventures of the exiled Jon Snow following the events of the show’s eighth season.
And despite no official confirmation from the network or the actor himself, Clarke stepped down and put fans at ease. The rumors are true.
“He told me about it,” she said BBC† “And I know it exists. It happens.’
“As far as I can understand, it’s made by Kit, so he’s in it from scratch. So what you’re going to watch, hopefully, when it happens, is certified by Kit Harington.”
The news may come as a surprise, as Harrington had previously spoken of his desire to avoid roles that were too similar. that of the Night Watch†
“Having portrayed a man who was silent, who was heroic, I feel that this is a role I don’t want to play in the future,” he had said at the time. “It’s not a male role that the world needs to see much more of.”
Sadly, Clarke isn’t eager to follow Harrington’s lead and reverse her decision to leave the show.
The actress expressed eagerness to watch the coming House of the Dragon “as a fresh viewer,” but while she’s grateful for her time on the show, she’s ready to move on.
“No, I think I’m done,” she clarified.
Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 are available on DVD and Blu-ray. spin-off House of the Dragon is now filming and will premiere on 21 August 2022 in the UK.
