The Vixens were premiers in 2020 but claimed the wooden spoon last season and a win would cap a sensational return to the top of Australian netball.

The Fever destroyed the Vixens when the two teams met in the grand semi-final two weeks ago.

The team in green had a week off while the Vixens did it the hard way by making an epic comeback against the Giants in the Preliminary Finals to book their rematch against the Fever.

With the Grand Final taking place at Fever’s home court, RAC in Perth, they will come in as favourites.

Australian netball legend Cath Cox believes this is Fever’s best shot at winning a Super Netball titlebut she tips the Vixens to cause upset in a close game.

Rahni Samason replaced Mwai Kumwenda in the Vixens’ shooting circle and helped her squad stay in touch with two crucial Super Shots.

It’s a physical game, but the Vixens are making it difficult for themselves, conceding a whopping 22 penalty kicks in the second quarter alone.

The Fever keeps the Vixens an arm’s length away and Jhaniele Fowler went to another level, crushing Jo Weston as she took the ball in a brutal collision.

“Jhaniele Fowler absolutely mustered Jo Weston in that match,” said Cath Cox.

“We were afraid she wouldn’t really get along. Have a look at this! Get out the way. Jhaniele Fowler is so strong.’

The West Coast Fever leads 18-14 after the first quarter of the Super Netball Grand Final.

The Fever grabbed a kite and dominated possession in an electric RAC Arena, while captain Courtney Bruce set the tone with six deflections.

“Courtney Bruce really has a soft spot for everything,” Cath Cox said on Fox Netball.

The Vixens got off to a shaky start but weathered the storm to keep in touch at the first break, while Sasha Glasgow and Kiera Austin pulled in some Super Shots.

Vixens defender Jo Weston has done a great job so far wiping out Fever goalkeeper Jhaniele Fowler.

Diamonds coach Stacey Marinkovich told Fox Netball, “This game is still wide open.”
