Gorden Tallis has criticized Roosters coach Trent Robinson after defending Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, only to fail to answer a question about a hip tackle from Lindsay Collins.
Waerea-Hargreaves was placed on the report twice and thrown out, but was defended by Robinson.
However, he refused to be pulled by Collins’ second-half hip drop tackle on Tom Eisenhuth. He will miss five weeks if he unsuccessfully fights the charges in the NRL judiciary.
Waerea-Hargreaves can only accept a $3,000 fine with an early plea of guilty, or risk a two-game suspension if he charges a breach of conduct for a first-half incident involving Nelson Asofa-Solomona, who received an identical sentence. for a scuffle in the heated clash.
Victor Radley was also charged with class one dangerous contact but as it was his second offense he is only looking at a fine whether or not he fights the charge.

“I can’t say much about that, can I?” said Robinson.
“It’s not up to me to comment on that.”
Tallis accused Robinson of dodging a simple question, which he found strange for a man of many opinions in rugby competition.
“It was a little weird when Lara (Pitt) asked him about the hip drop,” Tallis said.
“I talk to Trent on the radio and he always has an opinion about a lot of things that happen.
“It was a simple question. Yes, he has nothing to worry about or he has something to worry about.
“It’s that simple. He saw it.
“As a coach it was just weird because he normally has an opinion about everything.
“He had an opinion about the Manly jerseys. He has an opinion about everything and in that moment he just chose to be quiet.

“I thought it was a fair question with what happened to (Patrick) Carrigan and what happened and Lara Pitt is just doing her job and asking, what did you think of the tackle?
“He had something to say about Jared’s (Waerea-Hargreaves) tackle. And this was another tackle.
“It’s just a tackle in the game. Kind of weird”
However, Corey Parker believes Robinson’s press conference was a sign that his team is solely focused on winning the league, possibly from outside the top four.
“I got a lot out of that press conference because of the way Robbo just downplayed his side’s performance,” Parker said.

“The way they did their business. He told them to play a certain way.
“They had to do it very hard in certain stages.
“It would have been very easy for Robbo to go to that press conference and be really optimistic about the performance his team has just been able to deliver.
“It was their seventh win in a row and cemented their place in the top eight.
“He went in there and had a steely look in his eyes.
“They have a mission. That is their seventh win in a row. They are very real about where they are as a football side.
“That was just typical of what we saw from Robbo. There is a belief from this team that they can go places in this competition and they showed that again tonight and they had to do it the hard way in different stages. ”
